At the successful European Hotel Awards in November (where we were asked to curate a soundtrack for their Grand Hotel Budapest theme) we were thrilled to see clients and luxury Londoners the Beaumont and Rosewood take home accolades.
Then in early March this year, we landed in Singapore for the second edition of the Asia Hotel Design Awards, founded by Sleeper magazine, where the Rosewood’s Asian sibling, Rosewood Beijing, took home an astonishing four awards (for its lobby, rooms, restaurant and Bejing House suite).
Held during Singapore Design Week, the awards celebrated the most innovative architecture and design in the hotel sector – so it’s appropriate that they took place in the spectacular setting of the newly opened South Beach hotel, an architectural eye- popper of a building, with daring interiors
from design luminary Philippe Starck.
Considering the achingly on-trend location and the calibre of the attendees – several hundred of the most in influential gurus in Asian hospitality, mingled with the visionary elite of the design world – being asked to create a bespoke soundtrack that represents the modern, forward-thinking ethos of the awards, appeals to the diverse audience in attendance and is rooted in the Asian musical sphere was a very exciting challenge for Music Concierge. We’re pleased to say that the evening was a great success, a lot of fun and – most importantly for us – the music went down a storm.
